Justin Madders, MP for Ellesmere Port and Neston, has lent his support to a campaign aimed at highlighting how diabetics have struggled to manage their conditions during the pandemic.
Justin Madders, MP for Ellesmere Port and Neston and formerly Shadow Minister for Health and Social Care, visited a ‘Diabetic is Serious’ reception and art exhibition in Parliament. Some of the artwork was contributed by Mr Madders’ constituents.
MPs who attended the Diabetes UK launch of Recovering diabetes care: preventing the mounting crisis learned of ways they can provide backing for the one in 14 people in the UK – 4.9 million – who live with diabetes.
Parliamentarians were urged to write to Sajid Javid MP, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, urging him to establish a fully funded post pandemic recovery plan for diabetics to ensure that they receive regular health checks to help them manage their conditions.
