Samantha Dixon MP has met with the leadership team of Sanctuary Housing to discuss housing issues across Chester North and Neston — the number one concern raised by constituents.
In a constructive and forward-looking meeting, Samantha Dixon MP welcomed Craig Moule, Chief Executive, and Lizzie Hieron, Chief Customer Officer, of Sanctuary Housing to discuss key issues facing local residents and explore opportunities for improvement in housing provision. The discussion focused on tackling challenges such as the condition of existing properties and improving support services for tenants.
The meeting marks another step in the MP’s ongoing work to improve housing in the constituency. Throughout the year, Ms Dixon has held regular housing surgeries and support events to assist constituents with housing-related problems — from mould and disrepair to rent affordability and housing rights. One of the largest events to date, was her Housing and Support & Information Event held in Blacon, in April, which brought together a wide range of local services to offer residents direct access to advice and support.
Following the meeting, Samantha Dixon MP said:
“Housing is the number one issue that constituents contact me about, and I know just how much pressure it puts on individuals and families in our community. I was pleased to meet with Sanctuary Housing to raise these issues directly and discuss how we can work together to improve outcomes for local residents. I’d like to thank Craig and Lizzie for taking the time to meet with me and for engaging in these important discussions.
“I’m pleased to be part of a Labour Government that recognises how vital housing is and is committed to delivering solutions. With record investment in affordable housing and a plan to deliver 1.5 million new homes, we are taking the action needed to address the housing crisis head-on.”
Craig Moule, Sanctuary Group Chief Executive said:
“Lizzie and I were pleased to meet with Samantha to share the progress Sanctuary has made since our last meeting. We also had the opportunity to share future plans and reconfirm our commitment to our customers in Samantha’s constituency, Chester North and Neston.”
