School leaders have spoken of their pride in students who picked up their GCSE results at the Catholic High School Chester today.
There was a mixture of elation and relief at theHandbridge-based school as Year 11 pupils collected their marks on results day.
Over 140 students were amongst the thousands across the UK who took exams in May and June for the first time since 2019.
With home schooling and digital learning the only option for much of the past three years, school leaders said the results were “amazing” considering what barriers the pupils had faced.
Oisin Rushton arrived with his family to collect his results and was very pleased to achieve 9, 8's and 7 marks across the board, in subjects such as Science and Music.
Gabriella Di Trolio was another high achiever high marks in History, Biology, RE and PE.
Both students will join their classmates to go on to the Catholic High School Sixth Form to study A-Level's and can take advantage of the dedicated Emmaus Building, situated on site at The Catholic High School.
Headteacher Cathy McKeagney spoke of her pride, saying: "To say we are proud of our students at theCatholic High School, Chester would be an understatement. Not only have they achieved amazing results, they have navigated their way through thechoppy waters of the last two years with dignity and grace and we want to wish them every success as they embark upon their promising futures."
