An investigation has been launched after a man died in a collision in Dunham-on-the-Hill, near Helsby.
He was driving a red Vauxhall car that collided with a heavy goods vehicle on the A56 Chester Road at around 2.50pm on Saturday 29 May.
Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to the scene.
Sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
He is believed to be a 49-year-old from the Chester area.
His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. Formally identification will take place in due course.
The driver of the HGV, which was white and had a red trailer, is not believed to have been injured as a result of the collision.
He was spoken to at the scene.
An investigation into the circumstances of the fatal collision has been launched.
