More than 200 handrails have been installed in both the East and West Stands at the Deva Stadium, thanks to substantial contributions from the Senior Blues and the Away Travel Committee.
To further help with accessibility and fan safety, the handrails were installed by Arena Stadia Seating over the last few weeks and are now ready for our first home pre-season fixture against Stockport County.
Significant donations were made by both the Senior Blues and also the Away Travel Committee – with the late, great Barrie Hipkiss a driving force behind this project before his passing.
Chester FC Director for Facilities, Nick Phillipson, said:
“This is an important improvement to our stadium and to help supporters.
“I’d like to acknowledge Arena Stadia Seating for their fabrication and efficient installation of the handrails in time for the new season.
“My particular thanks to Barrie and Richard from the Away Travel and Chris Courtney-Williams from the Senior Blues for their donations, without which this would not have been completed in one go.
“I know Barrie was very supportive of the scheme and we will never forget this.”
