With the festive season just around the corner, The Queen’s School in Chester is launching an art competition for local school children to design a seasonal greetings card.
Aimed at children in Years 4-6, the school is hoping the competition will ignite some festive cheer in these strange times.
The winning designs will be turned into professional printed cards with the winners receiving a box to send to family and friends.
The theme for the design is ‘What the holiday’s mean to me and my family’ and the deadline for entries is Monday 23 November. Entries need to be submitted on the school website at www.thequeensschool.com/festive-card-competition
Headmistress of The Queen’s School Sue Wallace-Woodroffe said: ‘We all love to get creative, especially during the festive season and we hope this competition will be something schoolchildren will enjoy getting involved with. The prize is something to be treasured and we felt this was an activity children could easily take part in at home and a great way of getting into the festive spirit at a time when we all need something to look forward to. I am looking forward to seeing some impressive designs and I am sure it will be a difficult decision to choose the winners.’
