A charity five-a-side tournament has been organised, for Sunday 5th December at Goals in Chester, to raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Ian Jones is hoping to raise money in memory of his wife Jenny and his step-son Aidan.
Aidan passed away of a rare bone cancer in December 2015, a week after his 17th birthday. His mum Jenny passed away, on the first day of lockdown, of breast cancer. Ian is determined to keep their memories alive by continuing to support the Teenage Cancer Trust, a charity that Jenny had supported since her son passed away .
On the 7th December 2019, on what would have been Aidan’s 21st birthday, Jenny and Ian organised a five-a-side tournament at Goals in Chester, where Aidan’s team, Carroll FC, played regularly. This tournament proved unbelievably successful and was really well supported, with 32 teams taking part and thousands of pounds raised towards their chosen charities.
Ian has now been able to organise another tournament, which will start at 2pm on the 5th December.
There will be a raffle with great prizes, cakes and a bar!
