Gynette and Lucy are taking on a “7 Ultras in 7 Days” walking challenge to raise money for Walk the Walk.
The breast cancer charity Walk the Walk, have two amazing fundraisers – Gynette Janney, from Hawarden and Lucy Cummins from Essex.
Starting on Saturday 12th July, Gynette and Lucy are taking on a “7 Ultras in 7 Days” walking challenge to raise money for Walk the Walk and we wondered if you would like to interview them or feature their story?
GYNETTE AND LUCY’S 7 ULTRAS IN 7 DAYS:
- Starting on Sat 12th July, Gynette and Lucy will walk 350 km in just seven days
- Their challenge will take place in two countries
- Day 1. On Sat 12th July, they will walk 50KM on day one of the “Race to the Stones” event, starting in Lewknor and ending in Wantage
- Day 2. On Sun 13th July, they will walk 50KM on day two of the “” event, starting in Wantage and ending in Avebury. They will then fly to the Netherlands
- Day 3. On Mon 14th July, Gynette and Lucy will walk 50KM from Arnhem to Nijmegen and back
- Days 4, 5, 6 and 7. Gynette and Lucy will complete the Nijmegen Marches, an iconic four day walking event, walking 50KM each day
- This is the second year that the incredible duo has taken on a 7-day walking event.
- In 2024, their first “7 Ultras in 7 Days” challenge saw them walk from Saltney in Flintshire, near Gynette’s home, to London, a total of 260 miles, again raising money for breast cancer charity Walk the Walk.
- Walk the Walk is best known as the organiser of the iconic MoonWalk London overnight fundraising event, when men and women walk marathons overnight through the streets of the capital, wearing decorated bras or brightly coloured bra t-shirts.
