As part of Government plans to further ease lockdown, non-essential shops and businesses within the city will be given the go-ahead to re-open from Monday 15 June. In support, parking at Linenhall will remain available free of charge until the end of July.
Chester Racecourse will re-open its car park to the general public from Monday 15 June and again parking will be free. Combined, both car parks offer almost 800 parking spaces in the city.
Chester Race Company Chief Executive, Richard Thomas, said:
“We’re pleased to support the re-opening of our city centre and the ‘new-normal’ of our re-emerging high street, by honouring free parking at both Linenhall car park and Chester Racecourse until the end of July.”
Carl Critchlow, Managing Director of CH1ChesterBID, the Business Improvement District for Chester City Centre said:
“As the city centre businesses re-open, it is important for us to make the travel process for visitors as safe as possible and also, an enjoyable experience. Until public transport and the Park and Ride system resume normal services, travelling in by car will be a popular option for those coming to the city from further afield.
“Both Linenhall carpark and the soon-to-open racecourse parking offer a seamless service with a safe, managed, outdoor site using contact less payment system.”
