On Friday 28th February 2025, Flintshire County Council will stop delivering services at County Hall Mold.
There will be no more Council meetings held in the Council Chamber, employees will have relocated to other office locations and reception desks will no longer be active.
Councillor David Hughes, Council Leader said:
“It’s no secret, moving out of County Hall, Mold has been on the plans for quite some time. It is a very old building which is very expensive to run and maintain. By moving council services out of the building it will save the Council around £371,000 in 2025/26 which is helping to close the Councils budget gap.
“But as one door closes, a new chapter begins with the relocation to Ty Dewi Sant, Ewloe, and we will be joining a number of council services which have occupied the building for some time.
“Ty Dewi Sant is a smart, agile working environment which adapts well to modern 21st century working practices and residents and customers will continue to receive the same high quality services.”
From Monday, 3 March 2025, reception services previously delivered at County Hall, Mold will be available at the existing reception at Ewloe.
The main postal address for Flintshire County Council will be:
Ty Dewi Sant
St. Davids Park
Ewloe
CH5 3FF
Although a postal redirect service from County Hall Mold to Ty Dewi Sant will be in operation for 12 months (until the end of January 2026) we would ask people to update their records and continue to use existing preprinted envelopes whilst the redirection of mail service is in place.
Information about the service moves is available on our website and we would ask people to keep an eye on social media for the latest news.
To avoid any disruption to the preparation and provision of school meals, NEWydd Catering and Cleaning, who provide meals to the majority of Flintshire schools, will continue to occupy kitchen space at County Hall Mold whilst alternative accommodation is being prepared.
Services based at Llwynegrin Hall, Mold are unaffected by these changes.
