With the current covid restrictions in Wales, the fundraising activities for the RNLI station at Flint are on hold, which as a charity is very difficult for them.
This however has not deterred their Lifeboat Operations Manager, Alan Forrester, who has set himself a birthday challenge to raise vital funds for the RNLI.
Alan has volunteered for the RNLI for over 50 years and has been a fantastic support to all the crew and the wider community.
On June 19th, on the day of his 70th birthday, he set off from his front garden on an 874-mile static bike ride from Lands End to John O’Groats.
So far, by end of day two, he's completed an amazing 180.3 miles.
