Fit Collective opens at Chester’s Northgate with more openings imminent

The Fit Collective, a popular local boutique fitness studio has now relocated to the award-winning Northgate development in a newly fitted out 2,600 sq ft unit facing St. Martins Way, close to Chester Market and the New Market Parking.

Councillor Nathan Pardoe, Cheshire West and Chester Council Cabinet Member for Inclusive Economy, Regeneration and Digital Transformation, said:

“A warm welcome to The Fit Collective, the latest business to move into Northgate. The Council’s ambitions for the first phase of the Northgate development have been realised, with all the remaining units now taken, and only one office suite remaining within the Coachworks Arcade.

“The transformation of the former Town Hall bus interchange site into a thriving leisure destination is now almost complete. The success of this first phase of the Northgate development will complement our plans to work with a developer to bring much-needed city centre homes to the adjacent Northgate phase two site.”

The Fit Collective provide a unique approach, offering three complementary services with the common aim of improving their members’ wellbeing: by combining reformer Pilates, small group personal training, personal and private training all under one roof using state of the art equipment. The team have a wealth of teaching experience in their disciplines and are led by prominent fitness educators Deborah and Adam.

Two other business recently opened at the Council’s Northgate scheme earlier this year; Bridge Street Coffee opened its second Chester outlet in a 2,000 sq ft corner unit in Exchange Square and Bennett Brooks Accountants relocated into the 3,200 sq ft first-floor Coachworks Arcade office suite overlooking the square.

The three remaining hospitality units within Northgate will also soon be open. Caribbean restaurant and bar, Turtle Bay recently announced plans to open in October this year; the 3,000 sq ft restaurant will be the brand’s first in Cheshire.

The 1,800 sq ft ground-floor unit behind the Picturehouse Cinema foyer will be opened by Popina, also expecting to open before Christmas; an upmarket destination for wine and cocktails, charcuterie and small plates all inspired by popinae, the ancient Roman taverns where people gathered to eat, drink, and socialise.

The 3,000 sq ft corner unit next door to Turtle Bay will be opened by BoBo, specialising in authentic Portuguese and Spanish cuisine, expected in early 2025, and will be the group’s third, alongside their restaurants in West Kirby and Liverpool.
