Firefighters investigating a large fire at a 19th century mansion in Tilstone have confirmed the cause of the fire.
Shortly before 8.30pm on Sunday 12 January firefighters were called to reports of a fire at Tilstone House on Nantwich Road, near Tarporley.
Firefighters from across Cheshire spent several days tackling the fire and an investigation has now confirmed that the most probable cause was an electrical fault.
The fire caused extensive damage to the building, although firefighters were able to recover a large amount of furniture from the building.
Firefighters finally left the scene on Thursday 16 January and the building was handed over to the owner.
