The Blues’ attention now switches to the Isuzu FA Trophy, facing Nantwich Town once again this weekend.
Chester FC have been drawn against the Dabbers for the second time this season, having defeated them 2-1 in the Emirates FA Cup 3QR in September.
The Women’s sides also met in the FA Cup this year too, with the Blues winning on penalties.
After narrow defeat in the FA Cup at York on Tuesday night, there’s plenty for Chester to be encouraged by as the focus turns to the league and the trophy.
If this tie is level after 90 minutes, the game will go straight to penalties.
Winners of Second Round ties take home £3,750 this weekend, with the losers receiving £1,000.
THE OPPOSITION:
One week after our FA Cup meeting, Nantwich progressed in the Trophy with a penalty shootout victory at Bradford (PA) following a goalless draw.
Another 0-0 would follow in Round One at home to Stratford Town, with Paul Carden’s side one again going through on penalties to advance to this stage.
The Dabbers have won two, drawn two and lost four of their eight league games since our September meeting at the Leap76 Stadium. They clinched a morale boosting 10-1 win over Runcorn Town in midweek in the Cheshire Shield.
