Cheshire West and Chester Council has launched Enabling Great Lives, the new Adult Social Care Strategy for 2024-28.
The demand for Adult Social Care services has grown in recent years and many people are needing more complex care and support.
This new strategy looks at the current demand for services and aims to help individuals live life on their own terms, building on the existing work taking place across Adult Social Care and supporting upcoming transformation programmes as part of a community-led support model.
The vision for Adult Social Care in west Cheshire is to enable people to live great lives and support communities to thrive.
A wide range of engagement took place earlier this year with Council staff, residents, partners and people with lived experience to help shape this new strategy, which will sit alongside the new Borough Plan and Cheshire West Health and Care Partnership Place Plan.
Councillor Sheila Little, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care, said:
“We’re delighted to launch Enabling Great Lives, which will support our future vision for Adult Social Care.
“I’d like to thank everyone who took part in the consultation for Enabling Great Lives and provided their valuable input as it helped shape the final strategy that we can now launch.
“More people are needing the support of Adult Social Care than ever before and it’s important we provide services that best meet people’s individual needs so they can live great lives and we can build thriving communities.
“This is a shared challenge and we’ll be working closely with our partners and people with lived experience to help bring our vision and strategy to life in the coming years.”
