A man from Ellesmere Port has been charged with multiple counts of assault and rape.
Paul Murray, of Livingstone Road, Ellesmere Port was arrested on Monday 7th July.
The 39-year-old of Livingstone Road, Ellesmere Port, has since been charged with:
- One count of rape
- Two counts of section 18 assault – wounding with intent
- One count of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal
- One count of intentional strangulation
- Six counts of assault by beating
The charges follow an investigation by Northwich CID and relate to incidents in Winsford, Ellesmere Port and Lancashire.
Murray appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on Wednesday 9th July where he was remanded in custody.
He is next set to appear at Chester Crown Court on Wednesday 6th August.
