People looking to buy a new house in Winsford can take advantage of an exciting opportunity to design the inside of their new home.
Cheshire West and Chester Council are working in partnership with Equans Regeneration to build 268 new homes on Roehurst Lane close to the Verdin Exchange in Winsford, called The Woodlands.
The scheme is part of the Council’s ambitions for the town, turning a key town centre regeneration site into new homes for the people of Winsford.
The homes are now nearing completion, with 161 designated as affordable housing as a mixture of affordable rent and low-cost home ownership properties.
Five of the homes are 3- and 4-bedroom self-finish properties. The shell of these houses is complete, including the walls, roof and windows, but owners have full flexibility to design the interior in their own style, their own way. This includes design of the layout and fitting of their own interiors and finishes, meaning that owners can choose where they want the walls and all fixtures and fittings.
An open day for people to view the shell builds is being held in the on-site show home at Woodlands Cheshire, Roehurst Lane, Winsford, CW7 2DF. Potential buyers can drop in, view the plots, and speak to the team about this exciting opportunity on Saturday 4 October at 11am-4pm.
Cllr Christine Warner, Cabinet Member for Homes and Planning at Cheshire West and Chester Council, said:
“We are pleased that 268 new homes for the people of Winsford are coming forward, with a large number of these being affordable housing. The ability to design the interiors of homes is a first in Cheshire West and Chester for potential purchasers looking to put their stamp onto a new build house.
“Winsford is an exciting place to be, and this scheme is another example of the Council’s commitment to ambitious projects and developments as part of our vision for the town, as well as providing more affordable homes in our Borough.
“The redevelopment of Winsford town centre to unlock economic opportunities for existing and new businesses continues. Along with continued commitment to the town’s cultural programme, residential development such as this scheme are vital parts of the future that the Council is working hard to deliver.”
