Aspray Chester Deeside Dragons are boosting their squad ahead of the Season Face-off.
The Aspray Chester Deeside Dragons are on their toes, vigorously gearing up for the 2023/24 season. As Head coach Mike Clancy balances retaining key players from the previous season, he's also adapting to the NIHL's new rule which permits only 16 players over the age of 23 in the game day squad of 22.
Spotlight on New Players:
Brodie Jesson: Formerly of the Telford Tigers, Brodie brings a wealth of experience. Assistant Captain Andy McKinney says, “Having Brodie is thrilling. His all-around play will be pivotal for us.”
James Shaw: Returning after 2 years with the Nottingham Lions, James is set to make waves. Assistant coach Matt Compton notes, “Having James back is a joy. We eagerly await his impact.”
Ollie Howells: This young defenceman, fresh from the Telford Junior system, showcased his prowess in Sheffield last season. Andy McKinney observes, “Ollie embodies our vision for the Dragons - younger, faster, and thrilling to watch.”
The 2023/24 hockey season is set to be a fast-paced, adrenaline-pumping season with teams battling it out on the ice. With swift moves, strategic plays, and the occasional clash, it's a spectacle you won't want to miss.
Mark your calendars for the Dragons' first home appearance on September 10th 2023, as they square off against the Bristol Pitbulls in their 2nd pre-season game. For those unaware, the Pitbulls play a league above the Dragons. Stay updated on ticket information via the official Dragons website at www.Dragonsihc.com.
