Cyberhood Watch, an initiative between Avast and Neighbourhood Watch, would like to invite you to discuss a new study they have undertaken with the University of Birmingham, looking at levels and risks of cybercrime in the North West of England.
Before launching the report with the media, we wanted to offer you a preview of the findings, host an open discussion and get your views on the following:
Nearly one in five people in the North West have been impacted by cybercrime. More than half (52%) of those in the North West who have become a victim of cybercrime ended up losing money, way above the national average of 36% Residents in the North West take the fewest precautions when it comes to cybercrime prevention compared to the rest of the country 30% of people in the North West say they ‘never’ discuss cybercrime Just 30% of cybercrime victims that we surveyed across England and Wales reported the incident to the police. That means that a staggering 70% of cybercrimes could go unreported In the North West just 27% of cybercrimes are reported, meaning the area falls slightly below the national average when it comes to reporting cyber-related crime Attendees will include Neighbourhood Watch local and central representatives, Cyberhood Watch Ambassadors, neighbourhood policing representatives, council representatives and Avast. If you would like to attend, please sign up for your free ticket HERE |
