Here's the CWFL Round Up for Saturday 7th October 2023
F.A Cheshire Amateur Cup
Hoole Rangers progressed through to the second round of the Cheshire Amateur Cup with a fantastic 2- 1 victory against Macclesfield FC Reserves. Skipper Josh Leach stepped up to put in a real Captains performance as he bagged two brilliant goals, but it was a real team effort as Hoole had to dig in second half to secure the win. Unfortunately, other CWFL teams did not fare so well against superior opposition as FC Farndon, Moreton FC and Sutton Rangers all went crashing out.
CWFL Dee 106.3 League Cup
Waggon & Horses continued their fine form as they defeated rivals Shaftsbury Youth in the Dee 106.3 League Cup. James Llyod netted a brace and Harley Bennion, Ben Barratt and Kieran Ball all got singles whilst Shafts consolation goals came via Finn Onwemene and an own goal. Kelsall FC had Brandon Needham, Joe Davis and Dan Evans on target as they dispatched Chester Nomads III to secure a 3-0 win.
CWFL Cayzer Shield
Cestrian Alex went goal crazy as they hit Sutton Rangers Reserves for twelve in the Cayzer Shield. Josh Camy bagged four, Niall Peaker a hat-trick, Ashley Reed a double and Chris Rowntree, Chalie Jones and Chris Hibbert all got singles in a 12-4 win against Sutton Rangers. Cheshire Vikings had Paul Finn on target, but Handbridge struck back via an Andrew Pratt effort to take the tie to penalties which Vikings won 4-3. Waggon & Horses Reserves also progressed to the next round with a fine 4-3 win against Upton Reserves. A Trey Lattie double plus efforts from Ellis Moore and Aiden Field done the damage for Waggon as Upton replied through Cam Dewhurst, Joe Williams and Jack Middleton.
F.A Cheshire Amateur Vets cup
Queens Park Vets progressed through to the second round of the newly formed Cheshire Amateur Vets cup as Dotty Bolton, Anton Jolly, Paul Dunleavy and Nick Scholes all got on the scoresheet as Queens defeated Dee Rangers Vets 4-0.
Wirral Junior Cup
In the Wirral Junior Cup 1st round Hooton Vets defeated Capenhurst Villa vets by the odd goal in seven. Dave Rudge bagged a double to go along with strikes from Jamie Quinn and Paul Howel as Capenhursts consolation goals came via Anthony Ashton, Carl Ngiam and a Stephen Hickson penalty.
Tarvin Precision Vets Division 3
A Matt Kilgallon double plus strikes from Rhys Nevett and Will Armstrong was not enough to secure the 3 points for Ashton Vets as Eastham Vets also netted four of their own via a Dave Sadler double plus singles from Dan Nettleton and Andrew Woods as both sides had to settle for a point each. Whilst a single from Jo Li was not enough for Upton Vets as Parkfield Vets won 3-1.
Tarvin Precision Vets Division 4
Game of the day in division 4 seen Great Sutton vets win by the odd goal in seven against Vaults Vets. Gary Handley helped himself to a fine hat-trick and Ben Robson also got in on the act for Great Sutton. Netting for Vaults Vets was John Buckley with a double and Kyle Mearns with a single.
Hartford Vets hit four without reply against Nags Head Vets courtesy of a Mike Jones double plus singles from Jordan Oldham and Raj Tandon. Hoole Rangers Vets had Andy Johnson and Dan Eborall on target against Frodsham Vets who netted via a Paul Mearns effort as Hoole ran out 2-1 winners.
