You could join the many community projects across West Cheshire, using the Cheshire West Crowd to run a crowdfunding campaign in spring 2022 and make your ideas a reality.
The Cheshire West Crowd, which is being run by the Council in partnership with Spacehive, is an exciting digital crowdfunding initiative, providing an opportunity for community-led ideas to be created so the borough can become more vibrant, resilient and connected.
Around 70 people recently attended a workshop to get their projects added to the platform by Wednesday 23 March ready to pitch to the following Council funds.
- Cheshire West Crowd Fund – £125,000
- Tackling Poverty Fund – £50,000
More funds could be added in the coming weeks and, with nearly £300,000 raised by community projects through the Cheshire West Crowd to date, plenty of momentum is building ahead of the spring 2022 round.
Councillor Louise Gittins, Leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council, said: “We had a fantastic turnout at the recent workshop we held and it was inspiring to hear all the exciting projects people are working on.
“The Cheshire West Crowd is a really interactive and flexible way for projects to raise funds and galvanise the support of their local community.
“Our first round last year was one of the most successful Spacehive has ever had and we want to build on this in spring 2022.
“If you have any ideas that could benefit from the Cheshire West Crowd, make sure you get in touch with Spacehive as there are plenty of Council funds you can pitch to on the platform.
“As a Council, we’re delighted to be supporting as many projects as possible and it’d be great to see the local community do the same.”
Anyone can back projects on the Cheshire West Crowd, whether you’re a resident, business or donor, and whatever contribution you make will go a long way to supporting these community-led ideas.
