Chester Racecourse has announced that Craig Charles will take to the decks and DJ at Soul Sunset Racing on Saturday 13th July.
The respected actor and broadcaster, now one of the UK’s foremost Funk and Soul DJs, will perform a special post-racing set that is guaranteed to get racegoers grooving.
Craig has spent more than 20 years on the airwaves and has also starred in major TV shows such as Red Dwarf and Coronation Street.
A real champion of Funk and Soul, he has taken the music scene by storm, becoming a real crowd favourite, regularly touring the country with his energetic DJ shows, and playing major festivals like Glastonbury.
On appearing at Chester Racecourse, Craig Charles said:
“I’m really looking forward to performing a DJ Set at Chester Racecourse for Soul Sunset Racing in July. The theme of the day is associated with a genre of music that crosses all ages, and I can’t wait to join everyone for a post-racing party that promises lots of feel-good music and beats that make you boogie!”
Steve Davies, Chief Operating Officer at Chester Racecourse, added:
Craig Charles is the perfect headliner for our evening of Soul Sunset Racing, bringing his smooth grooves and funky beats to the world’s oldest racecourse.
“Amongst all the other notable credits in his magnificent career, Craig is a Funk and Soul Icon and one of the most exciting DJs in the business. His set is guaranteed to enhance the Soul Sunset Racing experience for all our guests, and we can’t wait to welcome him on Saturday 13 July for what will be an in-demand and unmissable occasion.”
The appearance of Craig Charles at Soul Sunset Racing, where all the racing gets underway from 4pm, forms part of a Summer Music Weekend at Chester, with an Ibiza Classics Evening taking place the night before (Friday 12 July).
