Visiting continues to be restricted at the Countess of Chester and Ellesmere Port Hospitals until further notice.
|
This extends to people accompanying patients for appointments on site, which must be limited and only happen for parents, carers or birthing partners. This is important for keeping patients and staff as safe as possible. The only exceptional circumstances where one visitor – an immediate family member or carer – will be permitted to visit are: · If the patient being visited is receiving end of life care · If the visitor is a birthing partner accompanying a woman in labour · If the visitor is a parent or appropriate adult visiting a child Darren Kilroy, Medical Director, said: “We appreciate how difficult these visiting restrictions are for our patients and their loved ones. It is with great regret that we have to ask people not to visit or accompany patients for appointments as much as possible. “Please know that by doing this you are helping us to keep our patients and staff as safe as possible. We will gladly open up visiting again as soon as we can, but in the meantime, I would like to thank our local communities for the patience and understanding they continue to show during this challenging time.” :: The Family Support service has been created at the Countess to keep lines of communication open between patients and their loved ones.
