Cheshire West and Chester Council has arranged travel and parking initiatives to help the countdown to Christmas run smoothly, for city shoppers and local businesses.
From now until Christmas, free parking will be available on Wednesdays at the car park in Wellington Road North in Ellesmere Port and also the Watermans car park in Northwich.
Chester’s Park and Ride service has also been extended during the festive shopping period. To coincide with late night shopping in Chester, every Thursday the last bus will be at around 9pm instead of 7pm.
Also, for the whole of the last shopping week before Christmas, from Monday 17 December until Friday 21 December, the last bus will also be approximately 9pm.
As usual, Park and Ride is free from 2pm on Wednesdays.
Councillor Karen Shore, Cabinet Member for Environment said: “We’re delighted to be able to provide these travel and parking arrangements for residents and visitors, during the busy run up to Christmas.
“It can be a hectic time for everyone but free parking at these locations will help keep shopping trip costs down and using our Park & Ride services takes away the hassle of trying to find a parking space in Chester city centre.”
More information about the Park & Ride and full timetables can be found on the Council’s website.
