Council StreetCare team’s unique way of showing support for NHS and key workers

Cheshire West and Chester Council StreetCare teams have developed a unique way of showing their support for all NHS and key workers during the coronavirus pandemic.

Grass cutting teams have creatively cut large NHS logos in the grass on some of the borough’s large open spaces.

The Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Environment, Highways and Strategic Transport, Councillor Karen Shore said: “It’s a wonderful idea and videos of the teams carrying out the designs have been shared on social media with people applauding their work.  This is a difficult and challenging time for us and I’m delighted our teams have been able to show their appreciation for the NHS and key workers in this way. 

“As we applaud the NHS and key workers each Thursday evening, it’s lovely that our teams have developed their own unique way of saying thank you.”

StreetCare officer, Gary Holden, who originally came up with the idea said: “It wasn’t difficult to do and I thought it was perfect to show all our appreciation in big way.  I’ve received some really lovely comments from residents.”
