A Chester and Wrexham based community theatre company is inviting members of the public to star in a special Pantomime video alongside local Britain's Got Talent Star, rock guitarist Olly Pearson.
Tip Top Productions are set to stage 'Dick Whittington and his Cat' at Wrexham's William Aston Hall from Thursday 4th - Saturday 6th December. This year’s pantomime is an extra special celebration, as 2025 marks a significant milestone for the show's writer and director, Peter Swingler OBE who is celebrating 50 years since he directed his very first pantomime 'Puss in Boots'.
As part of preparations for this year's show, Tip Top Productions are inviting the public to join them to be part of a special video segment to be used in the Pantomime. Featuring BGT finalist Olly, and Tip Top's Pantomime Dame - Sarah The Cook (Chris Phillips), the video will be filmed at Wayne's iconic Butty Van outside The Turf at Wrexham's Racecourse football stadium which famously featured in 'Welcome To Wrexham'. Filming takes place on Saturday 1st November at 10am when local videographer Aled Morris will be on hand to capture Olly serenading Sarah The Cook.
Speaking about the filming, Peter Swingler said:
"Olly is helping Tip Top Productions promote this year’s spectacular pantomime Dick Whittington and His Cat, coming to William Aston Hall this December. Local videographer Aled Morris will be filming the scene for inclusion in the show – and YOU could be part of it! So come along, buy a butty, cheer on Olly and Sarah, and you might find yourself starring as an extra in our panto film!"
Tip Top Productions are also set to bring the glitz and glamour of the silver screen to the stage with a special show at Rossett Village Hall on Friday 31st October and Saturday 1st November at 7pm.
The show - 'Showstoppers of the Silver Screen' will feature songs from much loved movie musicals including The Greatest Showman, Grease, Mary Poppins, Dirty Dancing, Mamma Mia, The Lion King, The Sound of Music and many more.
The show's producer Luke Disley said:
"From the golden age of Hollywood to modern-day blockbusters, this spectacular show brings together the very best songs from the greatest ever movie musicals. With dazzling performances, live vocals, and a sprinkle of movie magic, it’s a night that will leave you humming your favourite tunes long after the credits roll. Whether you're a lifelong fan of movie musicals or just love a great night out, Showstoppers of the Silver Screen is your ticket to a feel-good evening through Cinema's greatest musical hits."
