Flintshire author Phil Woods has gone to number one in the sports book best seller list, with 'The Lionesses Roar Again', a book Phil wrote in just 48 hours following England's Euro 25 win.
A couple of weeks ago the news broke that Phil had spent 48 Hours straight writing and researching a book charting the success of the England Women's football team under manager Sarina Wiegman. Today, the books became the best selling sports book in the UK.
Phil said:
"After hovering between numbers 3 & 7 for a week, I woke up to the news that my book had finally reached number one. I couldn't quite believe it and had to check myself as I never thought it would happen in a million years.I am beyond happy right now."
Phil has had support from many Facebook Lionesses fans groups. He puts his success down to awareness and says he says he is truly thankful for that support.
"I couldn't have done this without the support I've had, so thank you from the bottom of my heart."
Writing a book in 48 hours is an almost impossible task with most authors taking months and even years to finish a book. Phil himself took two years to finish his previous book, 'The Racing Biography of Lewis Hamilton'.
Phil says that:
"The Lionesses Roar Again Is an anomaly, proving I could achieve something by putting my head down and getting on with it."
What has Phil got planned for the future?
"I currently have a Doctor Who book in the hands of my agent Jane Compton, so let's see where that goes."
