Welsh gold jewellery specialist Clogau has been announced as title sponsor of Chester Racecourse’s City Plate Day on Saturday 15th July for a second consecutive year.
The second-generation family business, which has a boutique on Foregate Street in Chester, has created unique hand-finished jewellery of the highest quality and originality, inspired by the natural beauty of Wales and an esteemed association with British Royalty, for over 30 years.
Focused on storytelling through beautiful jewellery, Clogau captures rare Welsh gold in the most unique pieces of jewellery.
The brand first marked its association with Chester Racecourse by releasing an exclusive Chester Racecourse Horse & Jockey Collection in 2021, ahead of sponsoring a Ladies Evening.
Since then, Clogau has been committed to supporting City Plate Day, which this year features the running of the Clogau Handicap Stakes.
Ben Roberts, Managing Director of Clogau, said:
“City Plate Day is arguably one of the most popular fixtures at Chester Racecourse, so I am delighted to secure this fixture once again for Clogau. This is our third title day and second association with City Plate Day - an event in the calendar that we really look forward to.
“Hosting a title day provides a unique opportunity to showcase our brand, particularly with one of our boutiques being located within the city walls.”
Kate Dawson, Commercial Director at Chester Racecourse, added:
“We are thrilled to welcome Clogau back as title sponsor of City Plate Day. Clogau is a business that crafts beautiful jewellery steeped in Welsh history and one that supports the local communities where its fabulous boutiques and outlets are located.
“Clogau City Plate Day is always a highlight in the social calendar for guests attending Chester Racecourse and we look forward to welcoming everybody to the Roodee for another special occasion.”
Clogau City Plate Day is the second of two race meetings at Chester Racecourse this week, with the Camden Town Brewery Ladies & Gents Evening taking place on Friday 14th July.
