The Oldest Regatta in the World will return to the Dee for a full day of exciting & competitive rowing races on Saturday.
After a 2 year hiatus due to Covid we are really looking forward to welcoming a fantastically strong field of 800+ competitors from 20 clubs including historical supporting rowing clubs York City and Agecroft who were recorded racing here 150 years ago back in 1872!
At nearly 300 years old, Chester Regatta is an important part of Chester’s history and we are thankful to our sponsors who help Chester’s 6 rowing clubs to put on this great annual event.
Spectators are welcome to come cheer along the Meadows and at the Sandy Lane Regatta Ground where Dee-licious food and drink will be available to purchase.
A big thank you to an army of volunteers who make this possible and best wishes for a fabulous sunny day of racing to all Chester Regatta competitors!
Saturday races start 8.45am through to around 6pm.
There’s 189 races over the 750m stretch from near Et Ali (Red House) to the Sandy Lane slip way.
