The Lord Mayor’s Fireworks Extravaganza returns to illuminate the night sky at Chester Racecourse on Saturday 4 November.
The spectacular, not-for-profit event, which raises money for a number of local charities, is Chester’s most popular annual fireworks night, attracting thousands of guests to the Roodee.
Delivered by the racecourse in partnership with the Lord Mayor and Cheshire West and Chester Council, this year’s sparkling occasion features two amazing firework displays curated to music – including a quiet one lasting six minutes – plus roaming entertainers, a live DJ and a fun fair.
An advance sell-out in 2021 and 2022, with the latter generating £20,000 for charitable causes, tickets to attend this year’s Lord Mayor’s Fireworks Extravaganza are on sale now and expected to be in high demand.
Cllr Sheila Little, Lord Mayor of Chester, said:
“The Lord Mayor and the Chester Charter Trustees are pleased to be sponsoring and supporting the annual Firework Display at Chester Racecourse. Organised Firework Displays enable fireworks to be enjoyed by many in a safe environment.
“This not-for-profit event sees the proceeds donated to local charities, including the Lord Mayor’s Charity Fund, which this year is supporting Blacon Beacon (Pantry for Blacon), Crossroads Community Hub, and Soul Kitchen.”
Chester Race Company Chief Executive Louise Stewart said:
“We are thrilled to be delivering the Lord Mayor’s Fireworks Extravaganza again for 2023. This is a much-loved community event that brings everybody together for a memorable evening of family fun and raises vital funds to support several local charities.
“We thank the Lord Mayor, the Chester Charter Trustees and all those assisting in the organisation of this year’s event and look forward to welcoming guests to the racecourse for a safe and spectacular fireworks display.”
