Chester Pride has announced the return of their free to attend, Christmas Day Buffet Meal.
This will be taking place in the Chester city centre on Thursday 25th December 2025 from 12 noon to 4pm and Free spaces are now available for anyone who may not be able to afford or do not wish to spend Christmas day alone.
This will be the charities 6th consecutive year running the free to attend event, which to date has seen over 125 people not face Christmas day alone. The event will consist of a buffet style meal with hot and cold drinks, some entertainment and a chance to take part in some crafting activates, watch a festive movie or just have a chat with others.
Warren Lee Allmark, chair of Chester Pride, said:
“We are very pleased to be able to offer our free to attend Christmas day buffet meal for those facing Christmas alone or simply worrying about the cost, sadly there are many factors that may mean people can’t afford their usual Christmas celebrations or have to face Christmas alone. We welcome anyone who wishes to spend Christmas with us in a warm environment that offers a safe space to be your true self amongst friends and our volunteers who are on hand to ensure our guests have an enjoyable experience.
We have launched a donation page with a target of £750 set for anyone who wish to donate towards the event to do so via the link at the bottom, these funds will be used for food, accessories, transportation costs and a little gift for each guest, which sadly maybe the only gift they receive this Christmas.
To produce this event takes some hard work and planning from a dedicated team of volunteers, and we are looking for a few extra pairs of hands to help with several tasks such as decorating the venue, food preparation and the dreaded cleaning up. Should any local businesses wish to get involved by donating funds, food items and gifts that will be given to our guests, we’d very much welcome the support given.
Any extra items not used or needed will be donated to the local homeless network with our friends at Share shop and Soul Kitchen, nothing goes to waste on the event which means even more people will benefit from the event.”
