Chester Pride 2025

Chester Pride returns to its city centre home, Castle Square, on Saturday 16th August 2025 for the city’s annual celebration of our wonderfully diverse LGBT+ community and its allies.

In a time where hate is on the rise and changes in law are creating exclusion and division, Pride events have never been more important.

Whilst Pride is a celebration, it’s also a chance to provide awareness of the issues the LGBT+ community still face and encounter on a daily basis. Chester Pride welcomes everyone to come and speak, interact and learn from our community in the hope to avoid the proliferation of hatred that is becoming so prevalent in today’s society.

Our colourful Parade will kick things off, starting at 12 noon from Castle Square and marching through the streets of Chester before returning to Castle Square. It will then be time for the M&S Bank mainstage to host an array of international and local talent, including headliners Liberty X and Chesney Hawkes, alongside Aiden Grimshaw, Booty Luv, Dene Michael, The Hammond, Honey G, Kelly Wilde, Laura and the Lesbians, Marcus Collins, The Proud Marys, The Royal Serenity, Vicky Jackson as Pink and Zoe Rodrick, with additional music from the main stage DJ, Dan Walker.

We are also very proud to host a 2nd stage, which this year has been named in memory of local Drag Icon and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner, The Vivienne, who was a loyal friend & supporter of Chester Pride. This stage will see some of the best Drag Queens, Kings and talented performers entertain the Chester crowds and will also include a special tribute to The Vivienne.

The event, for all ages, races, orientations and backgrounds, will be a fun-filled day until 8pm and will be completed with our Health, Life & Wellbeing Zone, Trans & Non-Binary Zone, Youth & Family Pride Zone, market stalls, food & beverage vendors plus lots more.

Once again we have been blown away by the continued sponsorship from so many Chester businesses who continue to support us and our community and without whom the event would not be possible; M&S Bank, Bank of America, The AA, Allington Hughes Solicitors, Artezzan Restaurant, Axia, Bonobo, Bristol Myers Squibb, Chester Bid, Cheshire Fire & Rescue, Cheshire West & Chester Sexual Health Hub, The Commercial, Cresta Taxis, CWP NHS Trust, Jaxx Bars, The Liverpool Arms, The Lockkeeper, MBNA, Northgates, Old Queens Head, Potens, Red Lion, RKS and the University of Chester.

Warren Lee Allmark - Chester Pride Chair said:

"There is an irony that with so many Pride events coming under threat due to funding issues, with a number of regional Prides being cancelled this year, the LGBT+ community finds itself needing more support than ever. The community faces arguably its biggest challenges and attacks since the days of Section 28 with more and more division being created and misinformation spread, either from those who are simply ill-informed or those who deliberately wish us harm. Pride events such as Chester’s give all members of the LGBT+ community, and our allies, a chance to come together to support, uplift and champion eachother and this is more vital than ever in the current climate. In order for events like these to continue, community support is vital and, simply put, events cannot continue without such support. One of the best ways to help us is to purchase tickets in advance and come and join us at Castle Square this year to be part of a fantastic, colourful and supportive community event.”
