Queen’s Park High School has become the first location in Britain to benefit from a charitable grant from the national charity RALPHH, whose purpose is to help safeguard the lives of people undertaking exerting sporting activity.
Defibrillation equipment designed to protect rowing, canoeing and other sporting participation on the River Dee or its towpath has been made possible by a RALPHH grant and additional financial support from Chester City Council, organised by Councillors Razia Daniels and Neil Sullivan of Handbridge Park Ward.
This national-first will be marked by a short ceremony at the School’s Boathouse on FRIDAY 21st MAY at 1.45p.m. In attendance will be the Headteacher Lyndsay Watterson; Queen’s Park High School Chairman of Rowing, Richard Cox; the two Chester City Councillors and Richard Allen, Chairman of the national charity RALPHH.
Media representatives are invited to attend, including camara crews. Rowing students from the state comprehensive school will also be dressed in their sporting kit and join others for photographs. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available.
Those intending to be present are asked to contact Lynn Morris, Marketing & Community Liaison Officer at Queen’s Park High School. Access to the school’s Boathouse will be made available via Lower Park Road, Queen’s Park, Chester CH4 7BB.
