Cheshire West and Chester Council have announced that Chester Castle will be open to the public this summer
Chester Castle will be reopened to the public again this summer.
The historic site will be open from 10.30am to 4pm on Friday, Saturday and Sundays from July 20 to September 16 with free entry to the grounds.
Visitors will be able to wander around the Castle and access the ground floor of the Agricola Tower which will house an exhibition on its' history.
There will be a £2 charge for people wanting to climb the tower and take in the rooftops views - with access free for English Heritage members.
Councillor Louise Gittins, Cabinet Member for Communities and Wellbeing said, "“We have an interesting events programme to help animate the Castle and I’m sure many people will take the chance to view Chester from the rooftop."
Chester Castle was founded by William the Conqueror in 1070.
The Agricola Tower and Castle Walls are now looked after by national charity English Heritage.
