Chester’s “simple pleasures” are the subject of a fun new campaign that everyone can get involved in to mark the easing of lockdown.
Residents, visitors and local businesses are being asked to share ideas and images of the best real-life experiences offered by the beautiful city’s outdoor spaces on Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #SimplePleasuresChester. The best posts will be shared on Visit Cheshire’s own channels and there are prizes to win, too, including a short break at a four-star hotel in Chester.
The campaign, now live, is led by Marketing Cheshire and Destination Chester, a new economic network of the city’s top attractions, businesses and organisations, which aims to increase visitor numbers and the time people spend in destination. Network members include Chester Attractions, Chester Zoo, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet, Blue Planet Aquarium, National Waterways Museum, CH1 Chester BID, Chester Hospitality Association, and Cheshire West & Chester Council.
Joe Manning, Chief Executive Officer of Marketing Cheshire and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Cheshire and Warrington LEP, said: “As the country reopens for business, we want to encourage locals and visitors to make a safe return to our beautiful city. This is the moment to reappreciate what Chester has to offer and share inspiration about the huge variety of ways the city can be enjoyed.
” Jamie Christon, Chief Operating Officer of Chester Zoo, said: “The Covid-19 crisis has highlighted how crucial it is for businesses in the visitor economy to work together. We’re dedicated to taking this new approach with the formation of Destination Chester. We want to help visitors once again create memorymaking experiences in the city.”
