Adoption Matters, children’s charity and one of the largest voluntary adoption agencies in the UK is hosting an Open Garden and Teddy Bears’ Picnic on Sunday 21st August in Ashton Hayes, just outside Chester.
The charity is inviting families to pack up a picnic, Teddy Bear and blanket and join them for an afternoon of fun including an amazing Teddy Bear Trail, Storytelling and Children's Magician! There will also be an ice cream van there for lots of treats. Visitors are welcome to wander around the 20 acres of meadows, woods, and gardens in the beautiful grounds of Ashton Grange, the venue so kindly offered by owners Kate & Martin Slack who support the charity.
There will also be something on offer for young people - a dedicated teen space for some fun games and activities, including:
- Board games – bring your speed and cunning for the quick fire “Cobra Paw”, or go against the clock in teams for “Articulate”, plus many more.
- Circus Skills – have a go at mastering Poi, flower sticks, juggling, hula hoops and more!
- Chill Space – relax and unwind with sensory tools to try out.
The event is open to everyone of all ages to join in the fun, enjoy the garden and have a wonderful picnic with your favourite Teddy! All funds raised will help the charity to support children and families on their adoption journey.
Tickets are £5 per adult, children FREE. To purchase tickets visit:
The event is very kindly sponsored by: Gigaloch:
People can also support the event by picking their very own Teddy Bear Challenge to raise funds. As part of your registration for the event, everyone will have their own personal fundraising page which they can use to help support the charity. How about a sponsored silence, read, fun run, walk or dance? Or why not give up something that you love for a week/month such as chocolate, sweets, fizzy drinks or even your phone!
As a thank you, everyone who raises over £20 will receive one of our NEW special Adoption Matters Teddies – ‘Barnaby’.
