Matches involving M.U.C. United rarely disappoint for goals, and Friday’s CWFL curtain raiser proved no exception as Clarence FC and United served up a thriller. Clarence pair Ben Morris and Ben Ryan both bagged braces, but defensive lapses again proved costly as M.U.C. hit five to take the points. Adam Hagger led the charge with two, while Sherali Muhammad, Ibrahim Hassan and Karzan Azizi added one apiece to seal a 5–4 win for the visitors.

In the CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division, the top two went head-to-head in a contest that fully lived up to its billing. Whitegate struck through Harvey Edwards, Will Reid and Darren Fox, but Newton Athletic replied with three of their own to earn a 3–3 draw, the sides sharing the spoils.
Elsewhere, Blacon Reserves edged out Chester Nomads III in a 3–2 victory, thanks to an Aiden Fields double and a goal from Calyn Spencer. Nomads consolation goals came from Sandro Maletta and Macaulay Salter.
Cup action brought disappointment for CWFL sides. Farndon bowed out of the Northern Cup after a 2–1 defeat to Denton Town Reserves despite a goal from Lee Parry. Higher Bebington Kelma Vets also exited the competition following a heavy 6–0 loss to Clay Brow Firsts.
In the CWFL Olympic Trophies Championship, both Sutton sides recorded victories. Great Sutton Reserves cut Kelma’s lead at the top to a single point with an emphatic 6–2 win over Frodsham FC. Ollie Galloway and Joe Tittle both netted doubles, with Zach Cotgrave and Kaine Morris completing the tally. Frodsham replied through Jake Edwards and Idris Jones.
Sutton Reserves also claimed three points, edging a tight contest 2–1 away at Poulton Victoria, who replied via George Pickering.
In CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division One, leaders Birkenhead Vets saw their perfect start halted in a 3–3 draw with Chester Nomads Vets. Terry Cotgrave struck twice and Mikey New added another, but Nomads hit back through a Danny Andrew brace and a goal from Si Andrews.
Ellesmere Port Red Lions Vets took full advantage, moving within a point of Birkenhead after a 4–2 win over Hartford Vets. A double from Gray Davidson, supported by efforts from Paul Head and Mike Flavell, proved enough, with Hartford replying through Dan Bowen and Tom Yarwood.
Neston Nomads Vets also kept themselves firmly in the title hunt with a resounding 8–1 victory over West Kirby Vets. Russ Burton claimed a hat trick, Liam Jeacock added two, and further goals from Phil Gordon, Dan Davies and Ben Person rounded off a commanding performance.
