Clarence FC returned to winning ways with a commanding 7-2 win over Elton JFC in Friday night’s CWFL Olympic Trophies Championship clash. Ben Ryan was in fine form, firing home a hat-trick, while Ben Morris grabbed a brace. Charlie Gouldson and Oscar Sergent also got on the scoresheet to help Clarence climb to second in the table. Elton’s consolation goals came from Terry Watts and Jim King.
Birkenhead Vets continued their perfect start to the season with a third consecutive win to stay top of the CWFL Tarvin Precision Division Two. Chris Rielly led the way with a double, with Bradley Gallagher and Lee Gibson also finding the net in a 4-0 victory over Eastham Vets.
Saturday, 04/10/25-There were just three fixtures played in the CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division on Saturday. Third-placed Upton JFC Reserves suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat to Cestrian Alex, despite a goal from Aaron Rowlands. Cestrian’s goals came via Josh Camy and an unfortunate own goal.
Handbridge FC edged past Blacon Youth Reserves in a 3-2 thriller, with Tadgh Gregory, Sam Balderstone, and Rob Owen all on target. Ellis Moore scored twice for Blacon in a spirited display.
Chester Nomads Thirds lifted themselves off the bottom of the table with a morale-boosting 3-1 win over Hoole Rovers. Harry Corley, Matt Jones, and Macaulay Salter were the scorers to secure all three points.
Higher Bebington Kelma Reserves climbed back to the summit of the CWFL Olympic Trophies Championship on Saturday with a dominant 5-2 win over Chester Nomads Fourths. Shaun Burgess netted a double, while Tyler Abram, Jack Bradley, and an own goal completed the scoring. Richard Birtwistle netted both for the Nomads.
It was a double celebration for Kelma as their Vets side also hit five, running out 5-1 winners away at Crewe Vets to move up to second in the CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division One. John-Paul Wheadon bagged a hat-trick, with Simon Tierney adding a brace. Kieron Banks was on target for Crewe’s consolation.
In CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division Two, Neston Nomads defeated Ellesmere Port Red Lions 3-1, courtesy of goals from Liam Jeacock, Leigh Stokes, and Callum Kenny. Gray Davidson replied for the Lions.
Chester Nomads Vets hit top gear as Danny Andrews helped himself to a remarkable six goals in a 7-1 win over West Kirby United Vets. Craig Graves added the other for Nomads, while Sam Hill netted West Kirby’s only goal.
