The weekend’s action kicked off with four Friday night fixtures, beginning in the CWFL Olympic Trophies Championship, where FC Farndon moved top of the table following a convincing 6-2 win over Elton FC. Lee Parry continued his fine form with a well-taken hat-trick, supported by goals from Callum Parry, Sam Davenport and Andrew Walker. Elton replied through Sam Telford and Harry Eardley.
Clarence FC remain in close pursuit of Farndon after a 3-1 win against Chester Nomads 4th. Ben Ryan netted twice, with Jason Stephens also on the scoresheet. Richard Birtwistle grabbed the consolation for Nomads.
In the CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division Two, goals were in abundance. Hartford Vets ran out 4-2 winners against Chester Nomads Vets, with Craig Millington scoring twice and further goals from Pete Wilon and Mike Jones. Michele Apolonio and Gaz Edwards found the net for Nomads.
Neston Nomads Vets also recorded a 4-2 victory, this time over Eastham Vets. Andy Lewi, Liam Jeacock, Ben Pearson and Rob Marrs were all on target, while Eastham’s reply came courtesy of a brace from Mike Jeffsey.
Saturday 20/09/25 - Whitegate returned to the top of the CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division with a dominant 5-0 win over Cestrian FC. Goals from Tom Carney, Matthew Cann, Harvey Edwards, Jack Sharratt and Adam Pickering sealed their fifth straight victory.
Upton JFC Reserves consolidated third place with a 4-0 home win against Blacon Youth Reserves. Jack Rowland, Josh Robinson, Jord Mather and Tom Leaney were all on the scoresheet. Meanwhile, Handbridge claimed their first win of the campaign, edging Chester Nomads 3-2, with Rob Owen scoring twice and Liam McGowan adding the third.
FC Farndon’s stint at the top of the CWFL Championship was short-lived, as Higher Bebington Kelma Reserves leapfrogged them with a narrow 1-0 victory over Sutton Rangers Reserves, thanks to a single goal from Tyler Abram.
Great Sutton Reserves kept up the pressure at the top with a 3-1 win against M.U.C United. Goals from Ste Teale, Jack Simpson and Adam Rabusanu secured the points, with Adam Hagger netting for M.U.C.
Capenhurst Vets made it three wins from three in style, beating Winsford Vets 6-1. Mitch Bailey, Peter Barnett, Ian Armstrong, Phil Jones, Michael Mitchell and an own goal did the damage, while Jamie Williams scored for Winsford.
Newcomers Sefton Vets and Crew Vets played out a high-scoring affair, with Sefton emerging 7-3 winners, Alec Bishop and Karl Berquvist both bagged doubles while Jamie Hay, Dave Parkinson and Anthony James completed the scoring. Crew’s goals came via Ben Roscrow, Danny Price and Carl Sampson.
Birkenhead Vets stormed to the top of Division Two with a commanding 7-1 win over West Kirby United Vets. Ricci Loughran struck a hat-trick, Jamie Edwards added two, and there were further goals from Craig Griffiths and Chris Riley. Sean Moore scored the lone goal for West Kirby.
