Here's the latest results from the Chester and Wirral Football League...
Friday night Tarvin Precision Vets Division 2:
Mersey Royal Vets had Terry Cotgrave, Anthony Cotgrave, Andy Robinson, Lee Gibson and Mark Connolley all on target as they seen off rivals Hooton Vets to secure a 5-0 win and made it three wins from three in the Tarvin Precision vets division one.
CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division:
An early injury to top scorer Harley Bennion meant he failed to score for the first time this season. But Waggons 100% winning run remains as they blew away Christleton 7-2, to prove they are far from a one -man team. Joe Houghton hit a double, with Robbie Davies, Mahidur Rahman, James Lloyd, Kieran Ball and Ben Barratt all getting in on the act to share the goals around in Bennion’s absence as Waggons lead at the top was extended to nine points. Matt Jones and Jack Harding netted Christleton’s goals.
Shaftsbury Youth’s struggles continue as they lost by the odd goal in seven against Chester Nomads III. Shafts had Finn Onwemene, Michael Williams and Alfie Naylor on target, but Nomads went one better as Connor Davies bagged a double and was joined on the scoresheet by James Pemberton and Tim Ashbrook.
Bennion’s injury meant Lee Parry had the chance to catch up in the leagues goalscoring table and Parry took full advantage to notch a hattrick for FC Farndon, but Hoole Rangers replied via a double from Josh Leach and a single from Christian Cooke which meant both teams had to settle for a point.
CWFL Olympic Trophies Championship:
As with the first team Waggon & Horses Reserves had a great win on Saturday as they defeated close rivals Handbridge FC by the odd goal in five to remain top of the Championship. Waggon’s goals came from Trey Lattie, Jake Smith and Ellise Moore as Handbridge had Declan McHugh and Matty Fowler on target.
Upton JFC convincingly defeated Cheshire Vikings 5-1 to keep up the pressure on Waggon. Joe Williams was the main man for Upton as he netted four times and Cae McGovern netted a single. Liam Keating was on target for Vikings.
Tom Wynne-Jones bagged a brace and Jake Gould a single as Hoole Rovers defeated Orange Athletic 3-1. Paul Murray scored Orange’s consolation goal.
Tarvin Precision Vets Division 2:
Upton Vets travelled to Birkenhead Park to take on Birkenhead Vets and came away with a superb 7-1 victory! Dave Roberts netted four times and William Dodd, Andy Lloyd and Gaz Kelly all got singles.
Ellesmere Port Red Lions had Amer Rashid in fine form as he netted a double and scooped the Man of the match award as Red Lions beat Winsford Vets 4-2. Jon Gee and Dave Fenwick were also on target.
Tarvin Precision Vets Division 5:
Wirral Vets had a Chris Atherton on target twice and was joined on the scoresheet by Danny Payne, Aiden Ryan and Alec Higginson as Wirral eased to a 5-1 win against Frodsham Reserves.
