In another fixture list marred by relentless rainfall, CWFL Dee 106.3 League Cup quarter final action survived, with Sutton Rangers and Moreton FC clinching semi-final berths by causing upsets against high-flying opponents. Sutton’s Alex Morgan and Joe Dowthwaite negated goals from Hoole Ranger’s Victor Arogundade and Jack Sterling, resulting in the 90 minutes ending in a 2-2 draw. The dreaded penalties seen Sutton secure a brilliant result and progress to the semi-final.
Meanwhile, Moreton FC secured their semi-final spot after facing FC Farndon. Gabe Bratu cancelled out a Matty Sheridan effort, concluding the match in a 1-1 deadlock after 90 minutes. Moreton then kept their composure, emerging victorious with a 5-4 win on penalties. Congratulations to both Sutton Rangers and Moreton FC on brilliant wins.
Northern Cup:
In the Northern Cup 2nd round Higher Bebington Kelma Vets proved that age is only a number as Goals from Ben McWah, John Walker and Mark Jones propelled Kelma into the next round as they defeated open age side Newton-Le-Willows 3-2.
