Here's the latest update from Chester and Wirral Football League...
Paul Graham resignation:
As many clubs will already know this week seen CWFL Hon Secretary Paul Graham resign from his post with immediate effect. I know all clubs; referee’s and the league committee members would like to thank Paul for his hard work and fantastic service over the years. Paul has been a rock for the CWFL league and will be sadly missed but due to work and family commitments Paul has now decided to step aside and let someone else take on the role. Stephen Piper will now step into the role until the end of the season and has the full backing of the league Committee.
Cheshire Cup 2nd Round:
Hoole Rangers' run in the: Cheshire Cup came to an end after a narrowly losing to Egerton from the Cheshire Premier Division by the odd goal in five. Hoole started brightly but against the run of play Egerton went one up only for Josh Leach grab an equalize from the spot right on half time. Christian Cooke then deservedly put Hoole ahead on 70 minutes only for Egerton to draw level, and then take a 3-2 lead with 6 minutes to go. Hoole then chucked the kitchen sink at Egerton but couldn’t find an equalizer as Egerton seen the game out. An excellent performance from Hoole who done the league proud and to every man nothing more could be asked.
CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division:
The only game to survive the weather in the Premier Division seen a close affair between Shaftsbury Youth and Waggon & Horses, and with around 15 minutes to go and Shafts leading 3-2 an unfortunate injury to goal Shafts goalkeeper Tommy Hardy put an end to the game. The CWFL committee and all clubs would like to wish Tommy a speedy recovery.
