CWFL Life Members Cup
Life Members cup action on Friday night seen Mersey Royal vets dispatch of Cheshire Vikings with a 3-1 win. Andy Robinson got Royal on their way with a fine effort before Stuart Jones made it two. Vikings struck back but a red card proved costly, and Anthony Cotgrave made it three as Royal progressed to the quarter finals where they will meet Hooton Vets who defeated Parkfield Vets by the same 3-1 scoreline thanks to goals from Kieron Fleetwood, Perrie Black and JP Stanhope
CWFL Doug Johnson Vets Cup
In the quarter finals of the Doug Johnson Cup Queens Park Vets secured a brilliant 5-0 win away at Lache Vets courtesy of goals from Dotty Bolton, Steve Abbott, a double from Anton Jolly and a Phil Coffin strike.
Higher Bebington Kelma Vets also progressed with a fine 2-1 win against Capenhurst Vets. A Shaun Burgess penalty and a Carl Butler free kick did the damage for Kelma with Iain Forster netting Capenhurst’s consolation.
In the 2nd Round of the Doug Johnson vets cup Neston Nomads vets seen off Chester Nomads Vets thanks to a Liam Jeacock four timer and will now meet Winsford Vets in the last remaining quarter final game.
CWFL Queensferry Premier Division
In the Premier Division Sutton Rangers had Steffan Gittins to thank as he bagged a brace to go along with efforts Nathan Stephenson and Joe Dowthwaite in a 4-2 win against Shaftsbury Youth who replied with goals from Alfie Naylor and Finn Onwemene.
CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division 2
The race for the CWFL Division 2 title is hotting up as Ellesmere port Red Lions vets secured a huge win against Birkenhead vets. Matt Bush and Mark Lowe where the goal scorers as Red Lions and Neston Nomads now level on points with only goal difference separating the two teams.
