Here are the weekend results from the Chester and Wirral Football League...
Friday 31/10/25 – Clarence FC went top of the CWFL Olympic trophies Championship to overtake Higher Bebington Kelma Reserves with another Friday night win, defeating Frodsham JFC 2-1. Ben Ryan struck twice for Clarence, while Jake Edwards replied for Frodsham. The result keeps Clarence in second place.
Hooton Vets claimed their first victory of the season in emphatic style, beating Crewe Vets 8-1. Owen Kelsey led the way with a hat-trick, Eddie Jebb added a brace, and Richie Feightman, Alex Major and Chris Hannon were also on target. Robbie Hancock scored Crewe’s consolation.
West Kirby Vets led Eastham Vets 2-0 at the end of the first 45 minutes through a Sean Hill double, but Eastham turned the tables and produced a superb second-half comeback to win 3-2. Mike Jeffsey netted twice, and Rich Courtney completed the scoring as Eastham claimed their first league win of the campaign.
Saturday 01/11/25 – In the CWFL Queensferry Premier Division’s top-of-the-table clash, leaders Whitegate extended their advantage to four points with a 2-1 victory over second placed Handbridge FC, Sam Eves and Will Reid were on the scoresheet for Whitegate, while Ryan Bradley replied for the visitors.
The division’s other fixture saw Cestrian Alex and Hoole Rovers share the points in a 2-2 draw. Nial Peaker and Olly Edwards netted for Cestrian, with the result leaving Hoole still seeking their first win.
FC Farndon, who have games in hand on their rivals, reignited their Olympic Trophies Championship campaign with a 7-4 triumph over M.U.C. United. Lee Parry hit a brace to reach 100 goals for the club in fewer than 50 appearances, with Callum Parry also scoring twice. Oliver Brown, Leo Davenport and Sam Davenport were the other scorers. Adam Hagger struck a hat-trick for M.U.C. United, with Keanou Reid also on target.
Higher Bebington Kelma Reserves quickly reclaimed top spot with a commanding 5-0 win over Poulton Vics. Tyler Abram bagged a brace, with Jack Bradley, Tom Jenkins and Jamie Balderston completing the scoring.
In the division’s remaining fixture, Sutton Rangers Reserves edged out Chester Nomads fourths by the odd goal in seven to record a 3-2 win.
In the CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets League, Capenhurst Vets stayed top of Division one after a 3-2 success against Higher Bebington Kelma Vets. Simon Thelwell, Chris Armstrong and Peter Barnett were on target, cancelling out efforts from Anton Jolley and a Shaun Burgess penalty.
Mersey Royal Vets kept pace with a 5-2 away win at Winsford Vets, courtesy of a Michael Burke hat-trick and further goals from Lee Davey and Stuart Jones. Steven Hughes and Steven Warburton replied for the hosts. This now puts Capenhurst Vets and Mersey Royal Vets level on 12 pints each with Cape top on goal difference.
In Division Two, Hartford Vets moved up to fourth with a fantastic 4-0 win over Neston Nomads Vets. Craig Millington netted twice, with Tom Yarwood and Raj Tandon also finding the net.
