Do you know a young person who wants to have their voice heard in policing and make changes that can help to influence the way Cheshire Police interacts with young people in the county?
The Cheshire Youth Commission is inviting applications for new members. Young people aged 14-25 are encouraged to apply and have their voices heard in policing and crime in the county.
The Youth Commission enables young people to inform and support the work of the Police and Crime Commissioner John Dwyer, and feedback to the Chief Constable on issues that affect their peers and where they live.
John Dwyer, Police and Crime Commissioner for Cheshire, said:
“In my Police and Crime Plan, I made it clear that I wanted to ensure young people and their views on policing and crime are fed back into the Constabulary.
“Enabling members of our communities, regardless of age, the opportunity to shape their police and victim services is important to me. I always look to take on board these recommendations and ensure they are implemented so policing continues to be connected to our communities and relevant to young people.”
Between March and December members of the Youth Commission will carry out a variety of projects, including working to gather evidence on issues that matter to young people and taking part in the Youth Commission annual conference.
John Dwyer added:
“This is a great opportunity for young people to have a direct link into the police, helping to shape the service that is received by young people across the county.
“If you’d like to find out more about the Youth Commission and apply, visit my website which has all of the details.”
