Division One – September 18:

Appleton 112 (35; Annie Rashid 26, Holly McCurrie 24, Kathryn Jackson 20, Amelie Batey 3-13, Lucy Brindle 2-14) (6pts)

Stockport Georgians 114-3 (29; Gaby McKeever 41*, Emily Thomas 40*, Emily Page 3-21) (25pts)

·         League runners-up Appleton had enjoyed a strong second half of the season, but that run of form ended here. Georgians’ bowlers took regular wickets, before an unbroken stand of 86 from Gaby McKeever and Emily Thomas saw them home.

Division Two – September 18:

Upton 144-9 (35; Lily Scudder 65, Madi Arthur 33, Hattie Nickson 3-20, Zara White 3-25, Molly Price 2-7) (25pts)

Oxton 124 (35; Megan Cooper 46, Alexa Harrison 32, Sophie Morris 3-21, Hannah McGowan 2-12, L Scudder 2-20 ) (8pts)

·         Upton won this derby clash to ensure they finished as divisional champions by a single point. There were a few scares along the way to this tight victory, with Upton indebted to Lily Scudder for her runs in the first innings, a knock which she followed up by taking two wickets.

Division Three East – September 13:

Hawk Green 54-3 (12; Ashley Aspin 22, Lucy Brindle 2-8) (9pts)

Stockport Georgians 2nd XI 55-7 (12; Amelie Batey 10, Sophie Sanders 2-4)

·         Despite being reduced to 9-4 and continuing to lose regular wickets, Georgians squeezed home off the last ball.

September 18:

Stockport Georgians 2^nd XI 64-7 (20; Sophie Barker 16, Alicia Peacock 2-8, Rosie Bradshaw 2-11) (4pts)

Hayfield 66-1 (13; Charlotte Peacock 21*) (25pts)

·         Hayfield are the champions of Division 3 East after this comfortable win, which meant they only lost one league match all season, a record which included the league double over nearest rivals Greenfield.

Greenfield 180-2 (30; Zoe Cuthill 42ret, Beverley Addy 35ret, Megan Russell 29ret) (25pts)

Hawk Green 60-9 (30; Rebecca Edmundson 30, Cuthill 5-14, Lily Bailey 2-1) (2pts)

·         Hayfield’s win in the morning meant that Greenfield already knew their title dreams were over by the time this game commenced. Nevertheless, they ended in fine style in a season where they won the Development Knockout in addition to their runners-up finish in the league. Zoe Cuthill took five wickets in only three overs here, having also been the top scorer in the first innings.

Division Four – September 18:

Lymm Oughtrington Park 72-9 (20; Sally Casson 31, Jenny Wallace 5-10, Ella Hirst 3-12) (7pts)

Langley 74-5 (11; Carolyne Jones 20, Carolyn Smith 3-27, Hannah Tovell 2-33) (25pts)

·         Langley finished runners up in this division as Jenny Wallace ripped through Lymm’s top order. Ella Hirst took three wickets and was there at the end to see this run chase to completion.

Macclesfield Treacle and Kingsley are the champions of the league’s two softball divisions (Division 5 West and East)

Leigh won this year's league championship after finishing bottom of division one in 2021, becoming the seventh different team to finish as leaders in the top division in the last decade. The period starting from 2012 - the last of Appleton's three titles in a row - has seen only one occasion when a club has retained the title. It all adds up to a level of competitiveness and unpredictability that is the envy of every other English women's club competition! Indeed, with Leigh having finished bottom of division one last year, and only reprieved from relegation due to an expansion of the top-flight, this could be the League’s Leicester City moment!
