Cheshire West and Chester Council has announced that Kathryn Auckland, Specialist Moving and Handling Occupational Therapist and Trainer, has been shortlisted for the National Back Exchange Rising Star Award.
Kathryn’s nomination highlights the outstanding impact she’s made across Adult Social Care and Health services in Cheshire West and Chester. Her innovative approach and dedication to promoting best practice have earned her a place among the country’s most promising professionals in the sector.
The NBE Rising Star Award honours individuals who set new standards of excellence within their organisations. Finalists are recognised for their leadership, innovation, and commitment to improving outcomes for those they support. The winner will be announced at the NBE Excellence Awards in Birmingham this September.
Kathryn’s role is discharge funded by Cheshire West Place and hosted by Cheshire West and Chester Council. Uniquely positioned to train health and care professionals, she champions the “Right Size” care ethos—ensuring optimal support for patients and residents transitioning from hospital to home under the Home First discharge model.
Reflecting on her nomination, Kathryn said:
“It’s fantastic that our Right Size care ethos in Cheshire West is being recognised by the National Back Exchange. Ensuring people receive the right care when discharged from acute hospital trusts—and that care continues through our Community Response Hubs—promotes dignity and maximises independence. It’s about achieving the best outcomes for both residents and the professionals supporting them.”
Please join us in congratulating Kathryn on this well-deserved recognition and wishing her the very best at the upcoming awards ceremony!
