Free walk-in COVID-19 tests are available from Cheshire West and Chester Council’s own pop-up COVID-19 testing units which are located in the Ellesmere Port area this week.
As of 19 July, the pop-up testing units will be located at:
- The Groves Sports and Social Club, Chester Rd, Whitby, Ellesmere Port CH66 2NZ
- Ellesmere Port Catholic High School, Capenhurst Ln, Whitby, Ellesmere Port CH65 7AQ
The testing units will be open every day from 9am to 4.30pm and also will give Lateral Flow Tests (LFT) tests to anyone who does not have any COVID-19 symptoms.
Government recommends that everyone tests for COVID-19 twice a week regardless of whether they have been vaccinated or not. Free test kits are also available to collect at the mobile testing units.
One in three people with COVID-19 do not show any symptoms so these twice-weekly tests are aimed at people without symptoms, to help stop people from spreading it unwittingly.
Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms should book a PCR test at:
www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test
or by calling 119.
PCR test appointments can also be booked at the Local Testing Sites in Little Roodee and Sealand Road.
The pop-up testing units are owned and run by Cheshire West and Chester Council and deployed in areas of need which are showing increasing cases of COVID-19.
