Chester’s historic Town Hall, the Eastgate Clock and Newgate are set to be lit up in purple this evening (Tuesday, 2 November) to mark Purple Tuesday 2021.
Purple Tuesday is an initiative set up to encourage organisations across all sectors to make at least one change to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. The aim is to improve the customer experience for people who are living with a disability.
Cheshire West and Chester Council’s street lighting team will be lighting Chester Town Hall, along with the city’s famous Eastgate Clock and Newgate, in a purple light to highlight this important issue and to encourage more organisations to commit to making a change or to share what they have already done to improve accessibility.
The purple light will be projected onto these Chester landmarks from dusk until midnight.
To get involved in Purple Tuesday, visit:

Or share work done to improve accessibility on social media by using the hashtag
