McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Cheshire Oaks continues its support for the local community by launching an initiative in partnership with local organisation Winsford Uniform Exchange.
The Uniform Exchange launches on Friday 26th August, encouraging Cheshire residents to bring their preloved or new school uniforms along to Cheshire Oaks all throughout September. Each week the team at Winsford Uniform Exchange will collect the donations, sorting through and providing essential uniform to those in need in the local community.
School uniform costs can add up quickly, even when only buying for one child, so in the face of increasing financial uncertainty and the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, the Uniform Exchange works to support families with the essentials they need to embark on a new school year.
The Uniform exchange will be running all throughout September at Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet – until the 30th September. Visitors to the Centre can bring their donations to Guest Services or to the bar area of Under The Oak Container Village.
Additionally, guests can pick up various Back-to-School essentials within the Centre such as school shoes from Clarks, backpacks from Joules and stationery from The Works; and of course finish up by heading to Haribo for some much-needed sweet treats.
The activity at Cheshire Oaks expands on the Centre’s longstanding Recycle Your Fashion initiative, which helps guests tackle waste and dispose of unwanted clothes responsibly.
Kenny Murray, Centre Manager at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Cheshire Oaks comments:
“There is such a great community spirit here in Cheshire, and we hope that our Uniform Exhange encourages lots of people to bring along donations of good condition uniforms that their children have grown out of. These uniform donations can make all the difference to families that are struggling, so we are very happy to be able to work with Emma and Winsford Uniform Exchange on this project.”
Emma Ball, founder of Winsford Uniform Exchange:
“Buying school uniform is such a big cost for families, especially if you have more than one child. It’s a cost that keeps on coming as children grow out of things so quickly, so you are often left with perfectly good items that just don’t fit. This pop up at Cheshire Oaks outlet will hopefully encourage even more donations of unneeded items that we can make available for families who are struggling with the cost”
Visitors to McArthurGlen Cheshire Oaks can take uniform donations to Guest Services or to the bar area of the Under the Oak Container Village. Donations will be collected once a week by the team a Winsford Uniform Exchange, cleaned, sorted and then made available to the local community at their drop in sessions – details can be found here:
